The problem, plainly. Energy infrastructure in most places is owned and controlled by a small number of distant shareholders, not by the communities that actually depend on it. Pricing, availability, and the pace of transition to cleaner sources are decided in boardrooms, not by the people whose daily lives are shaped by the outcome.

The question we’re asking. What if the power grid — literally — belonged to the people using it, generated and distributed at the community level rather than dictated from a distant headquarters?

What’s happening in this Initiative. Members are studying decentralized and community-owned energy models already in use elsewhere, evaluating what’s realistically achievable at neighborhood or regional scale, and drafting a framework for community-owned generation and distribution.

How to get involved. Open to Full-tier members. Especially valuable here: anyone with technical, engineering, or systems-design background, though no formal credentials are required to contribute meaningfully.
